A local authority required a banksman to guide every reversing manoeuvre but knew the rule wasn’t always being followed.

We configured roadstream to detect reversing manoeuvres and capture time-lapse footage from the rear camera. AI-assisted analysis checked for a person guiding the vehicle, with human-in-the-loop review helping interpret cases that needed a closer look.

For example, AI might detect a person behind the vehicle but be unable to establish whether they were an employee guiding the driver or simply a member of the public nearby.

A human reviewer could examine the footage and recognise that the person was acting as a banksman, but wasn’t wearing high-vis clothing. The finding becomes “banksman present, high-vis missing”, giving management a specific issue to investigate.

That human judgement helps reduce false alarms and turn ambiguous footage into actionable findings. We refine the capture and review criteria with you to reduce noise while keeping attention on the events that matter.
